- Develop, lead, and implement business cost reduction strategies through sourcing to improve our cost position without sacrificing quality.
- Evaluate, coordinate, and support sourcing opportunities and product development by sourcing new technologies from qualified suppliers while leading the qualification process.
- Support the Technical team in the bidding phase to obtain best prices and shorten lead times.
- Challenge existing suppliers to recommend more cost-effective and/or more reliable products that will improve our competitive position.
- Coordinate with the Technical team to gather information and prepare request for information (RFI) documents to potential suppliers.
- Validate and confirm with the Sales and Technical Team the quantity and specifications required for purchase requisition preparation.
- Perform market scanning for new suppliers and subcontractors to enhance total cost of ownership in each suppliers’ category.
- Lead vendor qualification ensuring vendor products meet legislative, customer, and Company Engineering requirements.
- Maintain an efficient database for suppliers' offers and data for tracking and reporting.
- Prepare project procurement plans in coordination with project managers.
